IQ Fiber ribbon cutting ceremony in Charleston, SC

IQ Fiber Opens New Charleston Operations Center, Transforming a Former Warehouse into a Modern Local Hub

Six-month renovation turns 2030 Herbert Street into a regional center for customer support, field operations, and technical operations

Charleston, SC – May 27, 2026 – IQ Fiber, a Jacksonville, Florida-based provider of 100% fiber-optic internet service, today celebrated the grand opening of its new Charleston operations center at 2030 Herbert Street with a ribbon cutting ceremony, marking the completion of a six-month renovation that transformed a former warehouse into a modern hub for the company’s growing local team. The new facility serves as IQ Fiber’s regional center for network deployment, field operations, engineering, sales, and customer support as the company continues to deploy its fiber-optic service across the Charleston area, including West Ashley and the Town of Mt. Pleasant.

“This office represents what IQ Fiber is all about – showing up, investing in the community, and building something that lasts,” said Ted Schremp, CEO of IQ Fiber. “We took a building with great bones and gave it new life. It is now home to a team of local professionals who live and work in Charleston and who are committed to delivering the kind of service residents and businesses here deserve.”

Local Investment in Charleston

Rather than build from the ground up, IQ Fiber chose to partner with the local Charleston-based owner to reimagine an existing property, preserving the building’s original architectural character while creating a modern, functional workspace designed to support its growing local workforce. The renovation transformed an underutilized industrial space into an active commercial space that complements the surrounding neighborhood and reflects Charleston’s distinctive character, supporting the City’s broader effort to enhance the area.

“Projects of this kind reflect the kind of investment that helps our region grow and thrive,” said Kevin T. Sheilley, President and CEO of the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce. “When companies choose to invest in our region, create jobs and revitalize spaces, it strengthens our local economy and supports long-term opportunity. We appreciate IQ Fiber’s commitment to being part of the Charleston business community.”

IQ Fiber launched service in Charleston in October 2025, bringing residents and businesses 100% fiber-optic internet with symmetrical speeds up to 10 gigabits per second, transparent pricing with no contracts or hidden fees, professional installation, whole-home Wi-Fi, and 24/7 in-house customer support from a local team.

IQ Fiber’s network serves customers in Jacksonville, Gainesville and Pinellas County, Florida; Savannah, Georgia; Charleston, South Carolina; Delaware; and the Chesapeake Bay Region of Maryland.
