Switching to IQ Fiber is easy: A quick 2-step professional install with minimal disruption, included at no cost to you.

The Installation Process

Pre-Installation

Prior to your installation appointment, our crew will pull fiber from the public right-of-way to the side of your home. We strategically attach a small NID (Network Interface Device) box (measuring 4.5″x7″) to the side of your home according to our network design. This placement, typically 2′-3′ off the ground, is carefully chosen to optimize your connectivity. Our drop team will ensure that the wiring is buried immediately to avoid any unsightly wires on your lawn for extended periods of time.

This process can occur anytime between the moment you place your order and your scheduled installation day. No need to be at home during this phase but our crews will knock on your door when they arrive.

In-Home Installation Appointment

Once your installation is scheduled, you will receive an email confirmation. Please note that your appointment time indicates the arrival window of your technician, and the process will take approximately 90 minutes.

You can expect to receive a phone call from our team when they are on their way (~30 minutes prior to arrival). Please make sure that:

  • An adult over the age of 18 is present for the entirety of the installation
  • Any pets are secured during the appointment
  • Gates or points of entry are open

During your in-home installation, our expert crew will take a comprehensive look at your home layout as well as your internet habits. This analysis helps to determine the best equipment and its location to deliver you the best whole-home WiFi experience tailored to your needs. They will carefully connect the fiber-optic cable from the exterior NID directly into your home. Next, they will place your gateway and connect you to our 100% fiber-optic network.

Once your installation is complete, our technician will help you download the WiFi Management App onto your smartphone. This user-friendly app empowers you to manage your internet service and all your connected devices with ease, putting you in control of your network.

After making sure that your connection is up and running as expected, we promise to leave your home just as pristine as when we arrived. Your installation technician is there to answer any questions that you may have. Our goal is to create not just a smooth installation experience but also a positive one.

So, what does the process look like?

  1. Schedule a Site Survey:
    • We will connect with our engineering team to schedule a site survey. This survey will help us build a scope of work tailored to your community’s specific needs.
  2. Meet with Community Leaders:
    • Once the site survey is completed, we’ll arrange a meeting with our dedicated IQ Fiber Communities team. During this meeting, we will provide a construction plan to your community leaders to review and approve.
  3. Approve our Right of Entry (ROE):
    • The ROE agreement allows IQ Fiber to build our network throughout your property. After approving the construction plans, your community leaders will sign the Right of Entry (ROE), granting IQ Fiber permission to deploy our network on the property at our sole expense!
  4. Accessing The Network
    • Once we have obtained the ROE, we will build the network in your neighborhood. See the Construction section of our Resource Page for more information on this process.
    • After the construction is complete, residents have the option to contact us and set up IQ Fiber service, or if they choose, they can continue using their current provider!

How Internet-Based Home Phones Work

Internet-based phone services, also known as VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol), offer an impressive way to communicate. When you make a call, your voice transforms into digital data. Instead of using traditional phone lines, this digital voice data travels through the internet, much like sending an email or a message on social media.

There are numerous providers to choose from when transitioning your home phone service to an online platform, including RingCentral, Vonage, and Nextiva. However, we recommend Ooma because they are reliable, cost-efficient, and you can source their product locally!

Ooma offers a range of units such as the Ooma Telo Air, Ooma Telo Air 2, and original Ooma Telo device. These are compact black boxes that seamlessly connect to your existing home phone. Once linked to the internet, your home phone’s base unit communicates with the Ooma equipment, effectively transforming it into a conventional cordless telephone. After the initial equipment purchase, you can expect to pay an estimated $4 – $9 each month for their service.

Account Portal FAQs

Manage your IQ Fiber internet account anytime through the IQ Fiber Account Portal! You can update your billing details, make payments, change internet plans, and contact support—all in one place.

How to Update Your Payment Method

  1. In the navigation bar, select Billing and Payment.
  2. Select Payment Methods from the dropdown.
  3. Click Add Payment Method, choose your payment type, and enter the required details.
  4. Click Add to save. If you don’t advance to the next screen, fix any errors flagged in red and resubmit.
  5. To use this payment method for autopay, select the new entry and make it your default payment method by clicking the 3 dots to the right of your payment method.

How to Make a Payment

  1. Select Make a payment underneath Billing and Payment in the navigation bar.
  2. Click the Make a Payment button, choose your payment method, then select Next.
  3. Enter the amount and click Pay (X amount).
  4. Review the on-screen success or failure message to confirm your IQ Fiber internet service bill payment.

How to Update Your Contact Info

  1. From the Home screen, click your Account Name on the top right of the page and select Account Settings from the dropdown list.
  2. In Account Details, choose the information you want to update. Note: Some fields can’t be changed in the portal.
  3. For account security purposes, enter your password to continue changing the field you’ve selected to update.
  4. Enter your updated account details. You will receive a verification code to validate your changes. Enter your code and click the Confirm button.

How Download Payment Invoices

  • From your account portal Home screen, click Billing and Payment in the navigation bar.
  • Select Invoices
  • Identify the invoice you want to review and select Download.
  • This will open a new tab in your browser with the invoice document. You will be able to download the invoice from here. The placement of the download button is dependent on the computer browser you are using.

How to View Your Transactions

  • From your account portal Home screen, click Billing and Payment in the navigation bar.
  • Select Transactions.
  • From this dashboard, all your transactions are viewable. For more details, and invoice should be downloaded.

Change Speed Plan / Modify Your Internet Plan

  1. From the Navigation bar, select Services, followed by Plans from the dropdown.
  2. Click Change Plan to review available fiber internet speeds and options.
  3. Select your new plan and follow the prompts to upgrade or downgrade your speed.

How to Open a Ticket with Support

  1. In the navigation bar, select Support. Select All Tickets from the dropdown.If you have any open tickets they will appear here.
  2. Click Submit a New Ticket.
  3. Next, fill out the form explaining the issue. Please provide a subject, details, and any relevant attachments (screenshots, images, files).
  4. Click Send. Your request will appear in a chat-style log. You can return here anytime to view updates and responses from our team.
