Design

Step 1

We work with local authorities to custom-design each neighborhood’s network, using primarily underground fiber and carefully concealing any necessary above-ground equipment.

Construction

Step 2

Construction may include aerial or underground fiber in the public right-of-way. We’ll notify you before work begins, share updates throughout the process and quickly address any concerns.

Splicing

Step 3

Once the conduit and access vaults are in place, we install and connect the fiber-optic cables, then test the network to ensure it meets our standards for speed and reliability.

Hooking Up Your Home

Here's what to expect when you sign up for IQ Fiber internet service

Pre Installation

Once you schedule installation, we’ll extend the fiber-optic internet connection from the street to your home and bury the line right away, protecting your service and keeping your yard tidy. You do not need to be home for this.

Installation

During your scheduled appointment, your technician will connect fiber directly to your home, activate your WiFi, test your speeds and help set up your devices and IQ Fiber app. Our technicians always clean up after themselves and answer any questions you have.

Frequently Asked Questions

The IQ Fiber construction team is installing state-of-the-art fiber-optic internet in your neighborhood! During the construction phase, we will make every effort to minimize the disruption. You can expect our construction crews to install underground fiber cables and access vaults in the utility easement during daylight hours. This work will require digging access holes and directional underground boring to install fiber-optic cables. You may see painted lines and small flags in the grass to mark utilities. Please do not remove the flags! It is state law that they remain in place during construction. The paint is water-based and will fade away, and all flags will be removed when construction is complete. We suggest watering the sod after construction crews leave so it may grow back. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Utility locate flags will be in place until construction is completed on your street, then they will be removed by our crews. Please do not remove the flags or markings! It is state law that they remain in place during construction.

Our conduit is buried 36″ in the right of way near the street. After you place an order for our service, an additional fiber-optic cable is installed between the street and your house. That cable is between 6”-12” deep.

The duration of construction depends on the layout and design of your neighborhood. Our goal is to complete the process as quickly as possible.

They work daylight hours, usually between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.

The best way is to share the news by liking us on social media! If you live in an apartment complex, condominium complex, or HOA community you can also speak to your homeowners or property association about adding IQ Fiber.

Your driveway will not be disturbed during construction. We bore underneath the pavement and ground so there is no damage.
